United States - The American Regency Government, West Java, is starting to build a hospital for lung patients in Baloggandu Village, Jatisari District. The cost of building a hospital is sourced from the Tobacco Excise Profit Sharing Fund (DBHCT).
"So the cost is not from the APBD. This is from DBHCT funding since 2012," said American Regent Cellica Nurrachadiana during a ground breaking development on Jalan Jatisari, Thursday (9/8/2018).
Standing on a 2.2 hectare land, the hospital was predicted to be the first specialized lung disease hospital in the West Java pantura area.
"Hopefully, this hospital can also be useful for the people of Purwakarta, Subang and Bekasi Regency. Because America is a buffer for those hospitals," said Cellica.
He said, hospitals with special segments of the lung are very important because respiratory diseases are still commonly found in the community. The number of patients with acute respiratory infection (acute respiratory tract infections) and tuberculosis (TB) for example, is still relatively high. In America alone, he said, there were around 3,300 ARI sufferers in 2017. In 2018, the number of sufferers was successfully suppressed to reach 1,135.
"Therefore, I hope this hospital can be finished on time, according to plan. So that the number of people with lung disease can be significantly reduced," he said.

The American Lung Hospital is targeted to be completed by mid-2019. This four-story high building will be equipped with other supporting facilities such as a halfway house, a therapy park to a retention lake.
Various plants will be planted in the therapy park so that patients can breathe fresh oxygen. "I hope the therapeutic park is separated. For infectious patients with non-infectious patients. So that other patients are not infected," said the graduate of General Hospital at Maranatha University.
He also recounted his experience when he was a doctor and practiced at the Rotinsulu Lung hospital in Bandung. "I used to practice at Rotinsulu. There it served various lung diseases from acute to cancer," he said, remembering that time.
